Scotland Crash Out of Euro 2024 in Heartbreaking Fashion

Hungary Grab Late Winner to Stun Scots

Scotland's Euro 2024 campaign came to a disappointing end on Tuesday night as they suffered a heartbreaking 1-0 defeat to Hungary in the final group stage match. Substitute Kevin Csoboth scored the only goal of the game in the 100th minute, condemning Scotland to bottom place in Group E.

Scotland's Euro 2024 Journey Ends in Disappointment

Scotland had hoped to build on their impressive performance at Euro 2020, but their campaign in Germany got off to a poor start with a 3-0 defeat to Croatia. They then drew 1-1 with the Czech Republic, leaving them needing a victory against Hungary to have any chance of qualifying for the knockout stages.

However, it was Hungary who took all three points in dramatic fashion. The Scots defended resolutely for much of the game, but Csoboth's late winner broke their hearts and sent the Hungarians into contention for a place in the last 16.

Scotland's exit from Euro 2024 will be a major disappointment for manager Steve Clarke and his team. They had hoped to make a deep run into the tournament, but their hopes were dashed by a combination of poor finishing and some bad luck.
